Kyrgyzstan to legalize land-based and online gambling

The central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan has voted to approve a bill that will re-legalize land-based gaming and, for the first time in its history, legalize online gambling. But there’s a catch. Casinos, slot halls, and retail bookmakers will all be relegalized, however, the Kyrgyz people are not able to play, as all offerings will only be available to foreign players.

Twitter is taking another step in its eCommerce foray and just partnered with Shopify to enable all US merchants to drive audience reach and boost purchases. The integration aims to make it easier for shoppers to discover products and be inspired. Twitter built a dedicated sales channel via Shopify’s App Store or Shopify admin.

NCPG and CCGNJ to launch US-wide gambling helpline

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ) have teamed up to create a nationwide gambling helpline in the US, the first of its kind. The idea is to spread the use of the current 1800-GAMBLER phone number into a federally recognized service across the country. The six-year license agreement will allow the NCPG to use the number in states outside New Jersey and comes as more and more states are legalizing sports betting.

Snap research shows 69% consider AR the future of shopping

Snap recently took a deep-dive into how its AR glasses and features have shaped up the shopping experience on the app. Over two-thirds (69%) of consumers think AR is the future of shopping. Snap also reported that conversion rates were 94% higher when shoppers interact with products with AR experiences. 96% of shoppers would be interested in using any post-purchase AR experiences and 80% say they feel more confident in their purchases when using AR.

Pinterest to add Idea Ads and Paid Partnership Tool for brands and creators

Pinterest is set to launch two new advertising products to empower brands and creators to get more from the platform. The company added Idea Ads which are similar to its Idea Pins. The multi-page, full-screen ads can be used to showcase a brand’s content, products or demo videos. Pinterest also added a Paid Partnership Tool that creators can use to monetise their content by tagging businesses in Idea Pins.
