Samsung launches credit card in India

The South Korean giant said it has partnered with the Mumbai-headquartered Axis Bank and global payments processor Visa to launch the cards, which it is calling the Samsung Axis Bank Credit Card. Consumers buying Samsung’s products and services through either of the cards will get 10% cash back “round the year”. There is a monthly cap of 2,500 Indian rupees [$31] on the Signature card, whereas the Infinite card extends that limit by four times.

German betting association calls for more action against black market gambling operators

Making the call on the German inaugural Gambling Addiction Action Day, organized by the Federal Centre for Health Education, the DSWV made a plea to take action against German casino operators running in the country without approval or licensing. Due to this, they are not bound by the same regulatory measures, such as protection from gambling-related harm. The DSWV posits that there are currently over 400 “black market” websites operating in Germany and that gambling harm will go down with the regulation of these black market casino operators.

Leading mobile payment providers across Asia announced integration of Alipay+ cross-border digital payment solutions in South Korea in an effort to jointly promote cashless travel in the country. Users of e-wallets including AlipayHK, GCash (the Philippines), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), and TrueMoney (Thailand) are able to pay at over 120,000 merchants using their local mobile payment apps when traveling in South Korea.

Lazada is collaborating with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to drive the Jualan Murah Keluarga Malaysia @ DE Dagang by helping to digitalize and grow the business of 100,000 local micro small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Information has reported that there are plans for Instagram to push on with its new in-app Media Kit designed to help creators record and edit content on the platform. The overview screen, leaked to Twitter, says to “express your individuality”, “show off your content”, “let brands view in creator marketplace” and “start the conversation” with outlines of the Instagram features that would aid in each of these goals.
