Events Calendar: ready-made campaign drafts for the year’s key events

Want to launch campaigns around big events without building every setup from scratch?

Your Galaksion account just got a fresh look, with a cleaner interface, easier navigation, and a brand-new section: the Events Calendar!

Our team has collected the year’s key events in one place to help you launch Popunder campaigns faster.

You choose an event and your target OS. The Events Calendar fills in:

  • the campaign name
  • the Popunder format
  • the Smart CPM business model
  • top GEOs and recommended rates
  • a 3/24 frequency capping
  • a start date that matches the event

Most of the setup is already done for you, so you can be ready in the right place at the right time. Read on to see how it works and launch your first event campaign today.

Mechanics behind the Events Calendar

You pick an event and the OS → the system prepares a campaign draft for each OS → you add your link, review the settings, and launch.

For now, drafts are created for the Popup (Popunder) format only.

Popunder is one of the highest-volume formats on Galaksion, so you can get enough traffic across recommended GEOs with no creatives needed.

The result: a faster start for every event campaign, with the basic settings and rates already in place.

The Events Calendar gives you the timing and a ready setup, not the offer. Your offer, landing page, and rate still shape the result.

6 ways the Events Calendar works for you

  • Never miss a key date. Matches, sales, premieres, and holidays are all in one place, so you can plan your angles ahead of time.
  • Less manual setup. Campaign drafts are prepared for you, and you don’t have to rebuild the same setup by hand for every event.
  • One draft per OS. The system considers historical traffic data for each OS and automatically suggests the most fitting rates, so you can compare campaign performance across Android, iOS, Mac OS, and Windows.
  • Tidy campaign list. Drafts arrive in one batch with consistent names, so even a long list stays easy to manage and has no duplicates.
  • On-time launches for every event. Your promo starts on the right date.
  • Ready from day one. Pre-filled drafts with recommended rates make setup simple, whether it’s your first campaign or your hundredth.

We recommend picking events that fit your vertical: the closer the match, the more relevant your ad feels to users. Classic fits: a sports iGaming offer during a championship or a shopping offer during a big sale.

Set up your first one using the tutorial below.

How to launch your ad campaign using the Events Calendar

1️⃣ Go to “Events Calendar” in the left menu.

2️⃣ Tick the categories you need and browse the calendar: days with events are marked with colored dots, one color per category.

❗ All dates are in UTC.

3️⃣ Create a draft in one of two ways:

  • pick an event in “Top Events of the Upcoming Week” and click “Create draft”
  • pick a day in the calendar and click “+” next to the event

4️⃣ In the “Targeting” window, choose the OS (Android, iOS, Mac OS, Windows).

If needed, add user cohorts based on the number of visits:

  • New (up to 5 visits)
  • Regular (6-19 visits)
  • Old (20+ visits, plus the remaining traffic cohorts)

Leave cohorts empty to target all users.

5️⃣ The system creates a separate draft for each OS. Click “Navigate to drafts list” to see them.

6️⃣ Open each draft with the “Edit” button.

7️⃣ Check “Main info”: the campaign name, business model, format, capping, and start date are already filled in.

8️⃣ Add an end date so the campaign stops when the event is over.

❗ If the event has already started, the draft keeps the event’s original start date, which is already in the past. Change it before launch.

9️⃣ Check “Rates”: the event’s GEOs and recommended rates are pre-filled.

❗ Always review your rates, and ask your manager for a recommended starting rate.

Big events can bring many advertisers to the same GEOs, and if your rate isn’t competitive, your campaign will get limited traffic.

🔟 Adjust rates if needed, add your target URL, and launch your ad campaign.

6 tips to get more from event traffic

🔹 Match your offer to the event.

Event traffic works best when your offer fits the moment. Tie your landing page to the event too, so users see an offer that feels relevant right away.

🔹 Get whitelists before the big day.

Ahead of major sales like 11.11 or tournaments like the UEFA Champions League, ask your manager for fresh whitelists of zones that perform well for your vertical.

🔹 Run ROS and RON campaigns side by side.

ROS (Run of Site) lets you scale the zones that already deliver results, while RON (Run of Network) picks up new zones as they join our network.

Keep a close eye on zone performance and act quickly with tools like Zones Tumbler Switch.

🔹 Bid higher when demand peaks.

Competition grows during key games and the biggest sale days. The Events Calendar will give you a list of recommended rates, and you can additionally ask your manager for recommendations and use Custom Rates to win top traffic slices.

🔹 Show your ad more often at peak times.

Event drafts come with a frequency capping of 3/24. On the busiest days, consider raising it to 5/24 to stay in front of users while interest is high.

🔹 Bring back interested users with retargeting.

Reach people who engaged with your offer but didn’t convert, and give them a second chance to complete the action.
