STREAMING APP REVENUES UP 48% OVER 2020
Due to the pandemic, the number of streaming apps installations in the US jumped to 81 million in the first quarter of 2021. The Top 30 apps saw installs rise 13% from the first quarter of 2020.
Revenue from leading apps reached $605 million in the first quarter of 2021. Most of the revenue came from the AppStore.
MOBILE APP INSTALLATIONS JUMPED 31% IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021
Fintech applications showed the highest growth rate of installations in 2020 — 51%. The same trend is observed in 2021 — the number of downloads increased by 12%.
The number of installations of e-commerce applications in 2020 increased by only 6%. But the amount of sessions in them also increased by 44%.

INDONESIA'S ANTITRUST AGENCY LOOKING INTO GOTO MERGER FOR 'MONOPOLISTIC PRACTICES'
The merger of the two companies into GoToGroup has become the largest ever business combination in Indonesia. The ecosystem accounts for 2% of the country's GDP, and the total gross value of its transactions is more than $22 billion.
It is reported that neither Gojek nor Tokopedia notified the antitrust agency about the merger.
